It was one of those oh-so-ordinary mornings when I walked into my favorite coffee shop, on a mission for my beloved coffee and bagel. But then, I accidentally bumped into a mesmerizing girl in line for her caffeine fix. With a quick, "Oops, my bad!" our eyes locked, and suddenly it felt like time stopped while a Norah Jones tune floated around us, and it was like we’d just stepped into a rom-com! A quick conversation led to a date and a life-changing occasion! It's a moment in life that very few ever experience!

But.... that's not how Love and I met. In reality, we met on a dating app. I know, I know, not exactly the stuff of fairy tales. But what if I told you our love story has its rom-com-type twist?

What many people didn't know was that I first spotted Love's profile on a different app. Just before a meeting, I decided to take a quick gander on that app. There she was with her captivating smile. Love quickly left a lasting impression on me. Let's just call me Rufio because I was hooked! However, I decided not to message her right away; not out of playing it cool, but due to an urgent meeting. I thought I'd reach out later since my meeting would end in an hour – no big deal, right? Wrong!

When I went back on the app to find her, she was nowhere to be found. Hours upon hours of searching but to no avail. A few days later, I tried again with the exact, same outcome. What I didn't know was that Love had decided to delete her account shortly after I saw her profile. I began to doubt if that profile ever really existed. Feeling confused, our hero was feeling defeated.

Four days rolled by, and Love's dazzling smile was still doing its thing in my mind. I started to think, "Maybe she’s just a figment of my imagination." But then, I got a notification from Coffee Meets Bagel saying, "You have a new Like." I looked down, swiped up, and lo and behold—there she was, Love herself, giving me a thumbs-up from the digital world!

My heart was doing backflips of joy and confusion. I had to squint, blink, and maybe even rub my eyes to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. But nope, it was real! So, without a moment’s pause, I shot a message to Love, and let’s just say, the rest is a rom-com waiting to happen.

Who would’ve guessed you could swoon over a smile after just one glance? I went from a hopeless romantic, thinking I'd never find love to being just months away from saying 'I do.'
